World Toilet Day 2013

Viva con Agua hosted a vernissage

On 16th November Viva con Agua was arranging their vernissage “Sanitary Art” with the topic “#IGiveAShit No.2″ in Heidelberg.

Art on toilet lids? Sounds funny but is possible! The idea came up three years ago and has until now become a fixed concept.  Special about – Viva con Agua connected things which at first sight seem to have few in common: Attracting attention to poor sanitary conditions in developing countries, giving artists the opportunity to present their work in an extraordinary setting and proceeds which are entirely being donated to Viva con Agua e.V. and thus to WASH-projects in developing countries.  The (artistically) designed toilet lids were shown in Heidelberg for one week, after that interested buyers can bid on Ebay for them.

In 2012 Vivacon Agua could persuade renowned artists like amongst others Rebelzer and Holzweg from Hamburg, Skay361 from Heidelberg, Limow from Barcelona and HA_DE from Ludwigshafen to come onboard and they achieved total proceeds of more than 1.200 EUR. We aim to increase it this year – by a targeted selection of artists and a communication extended to the whole of Germany.
