Community-Led Coping Mechanisms – Potential for Sustainable Climate Change Adaptation
As the world struggles with the adverse effects of climate-change, resilience and tailored solutions are of increasing importance. Where blueprint answers stop short, communities know best what works and what does not, making them the perfect local agents for change and climate-change adaptation.
The WASH Session on Community-led coping mechanisms will focus on climate-related challenges in arid and semi-arid settings in the Eastern Africa Region. Simple yet eye-opening approaches will be presented that show how communities can take their future into their own hands, decreasing dependencies and strengthening their own resilience. The session will provide a fruitful learning environment, allowing for deep exchange from practitioner to practitioner.
